“The key is not to prioritise your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.” - Stephen Covey
I’m going to share three tips how you can manage your time more efficient.
So, I lived my life going in one direction one minute, then shifting to another direction and was all over the place. I was working 10-hour days and only getting a few things checked off my list.
I was tired and wondering what I was doing wrong. Why was I constantly overwhelmed? Why did I never have enough time?
It was not until I fully embraced and committed to a new belief system around priority management that I started to understand that it takes more energy to remain OVERWHELMED than it does to get ORGANIZED and manage your time.
Did you know, being overwhelmed is an UNCONSCIOUS strategy?
What finally got me to commit was knowing I was only operating at 60% of my possibility and potential and I wanted to use every tool to reach my 100% capacity.
Once I started embracing and managing my priorities, I was able to get MORE done in a SHORTER amount of time and live a MORE FULFILLING life.
Did you know that there is no such thing as time management? It is actually referred to as priority management. By effectively managing priorities, you can experience greater grace and ease, and it can even lead to the creation of more time.
Learn some priority management tips and strategies to help you be more productive, efficient and get more out of your day.
1. WHY PRIORITISING IS IMPORTANT
When you lack an action plan, a to-do list, a set of goals, or any sense of direction in life, it becomes effortless to assign significance to the wrong things. You end up investing your time and energy in pursuing these endeavors, even though they may not hold much long-term importance. Take a moment to reflect on your own priorities for the day, week, or even the long term, and consistently assess them.
2. YOUR TIME IS VALUABLE
One of the most significant ways to squander your time is by permitting distractions or getting sidetracked from your current task. Endeavour to maintain focus and finish one task before proceeding to the next.
Here are some strategies to avoid distractions:
Keep your phone out of sight.
Limit your screen time.
Check emails only at specific times.
Uninstall social media apps from your phone.
3. A TO-DO LIST IS MUST
Maintaining a mental list of tasks increases the likelihood of forgetting important things. However, by putting them down on paper, you can experience several benefits:
It serves as a reminder of what holds significance.
It aids in prioritising urgent matters.
It relieves the burden on your memory, allowing your brain to focus on other tasks.
